Course Objectives
• Why and how you should begin your treatment plan with the final esthetic result in mind
• Learn the importance of the Digital Patient and how creating established a comprehensive view of the proposed treatment plan
• How to create 2D Smile Designs, easy and fast, conducting a facial analysis and following facially-guided concepts
• How to create 3D Smile Designs that will help you deliver predictable outcomes through printable dental mockups
• How to evaluate your treatment plan with AI diagnostic and medical viewer during the smile design workflow
• How to 3D print your smile prototypes and collaborate with your lab and specialists on the SmileFy platform (TeamUp) to treatment plan cases together and deliver predictable final restorations
During the hands-on, you will practice how to create a digital patient, smile design, diagnose and 3D plan smiles for cosmetic cases using SmileFy. In addition, learn how to 3D print and test your smile prototype in the patient’s mouth to elaborate better treatment outcomes.

3D Smile Design
- 3D smile designs as a chair-side solution: Understanding the difference of each 3D smile design project to be used as mock up guides in various stages of the treatment
- Upper and Lower 3D design : selecting the best 3D teeth shape for your cases
- Learn how to create a 3D design using a frontal facial picture, an intra-oral scan, and a 3D facial scan
- Learn how to finalize your 3D design to proceed with 3D printing for traditional Mock-Up placement and composite veneers directly from the App
- Basics of 3D printing and materials needed for the process
HANDS ON :
- How to elaborate a comprehensive treatment plan using SmileFy as a tool
- Practice 3D Facially guided Smile Design using SmileFy
- Create 3D Smile Design for Motivational and ideal mock-ups, provisionals, and composite veneers
- Export the 3D project (STL) from SmileFy for 3D printing

- How to prepare and perform your Mock-Up for a Smile test-drive
- Evaluation of the mock-up and check for incisal edge position, esthetics, smile line, phonetics, and function
- Tips & Tricks for a successful outcome and outstanding aesthetic results
- Updates in the field of direct and indirect aesthetic restorations for anterior teeth, enabling you to perform multidisciplinary aesthetic restorative treatment
HANDS ON:
- Mock-up and preparation guide indexes
- Perform motivational/ideal mockup
- Functional Adjustment tips
- Collaboration with the lab for final restorations
- Demo: Direct Composite Restoration using SmileFy printed mockups
With any functional aesthetic-driven dental treatment it is important to begin with an understanding of the end result. From picture taking to smile designs and 3D digital wax-up, the dental professional will be able to effectively communicate with the patient and dental technician to produce more precise treatment outcomes and reduce overall chair-side time.
- Take Proper Facial Picture to conduct facial/dental esthetic analysis
- Use 2D Smile Simulations as a marketing and visualization tool
- Initiate digital treatment plans using 3D Smile Designs – from digitalizing the patient to selecting natural teeth shapes and morphologies
- Create 3D design wax-ups for Injected technique
- Customize digital wax-ups as it relates to each case and treatment at hand for optimal results
- Export and print smile prototypes to perform mock-up trials
- Perform functional tests and adjustments on the mockup to create a blueprint of the final restorations
- Collaborate with a dental technician to deliver effective communication
Once Digital Smile Designs are created on SmileFy, the digital mockups and natural teeth files can be imported into any software that incorporates .STL files.
